City Councilman Joel Rivera into Real Estate

Bronx News Network reports that current City Council Majority Leader Joel Rivera of the Bronx is exploring a new career outside of politics. Councilman Rivera will now be selling real estate in the Bronx for RE/MAX Results. It's probably a good idea to have another career to fall back on if the political stuff does not work out.

  1. The real world of business is very different from politics. Rivera has been coddled in the political world because of his father. It will be interesting to see if he has what it takes to make a success of himself in the private sector.

  2. It's a tough economy right now, but if he works very hard, I'm sure he'll do fine in the real estate business.

  3. At least he's putting his time to more good use, instead of his usual Street sign unveilings or health fairs/blood drives which is the only thing he seems to do in the neighborhood now a-days.

  5. That guy should stick to politics. A real job might be a shock to his system.

People like him and Ruben Diaz Jr have never done a day of any job outside of politics. They are probably too soft now to do anything else.

  6. Young people are renting becuase they are being frozen out of home ownership. Rivera should try to do something about that BEFORE he leaves office.

  7. It says that Councilman Rivera is now a "newly licensed sales associate." But I just looked up his license, and he is not yet a broker (or associate broker). He is still a salesperson.

  8. Let's go for a swim, laze around the house, play with the dogs, drink a root beer float, catch up on TiVo, have some food, a glass of wine, call it a day, and NEVER THINK ABOUT BRONX POLITICS!

    1. Instead of complaining about what politicians don't do get up and make them work for you. There has never been a time that I asked for help from Serranos Office, The Diaz, or Joel Riveras Office that I did not get helped both for myself, and my community, and most especially from Joel Rivera, and Ruben Diaz. I am 63 years old, born and raised in The Bronx New York.
