Bronx Political Chatter is a no holds-barred, irreverent look at politics in the Bronx. Bronxites have long lacked an independent forum to express our views about local politics and politicians. Bronx Political Chatter is a place for you to openly express your views, ideas, criticisms and suggestions, and to make our elected officials more accountable for the decisions they make. So this is your turn to be heard.

Senator Diaz Riles Up Staten Island Pols
Sporting a white cowboy hat, State Senator Ruben Diaz Sr. crossed the Verrazano to promote a unity rally between the African-American and Hispanic communities. Sounds like a wholesome idea, but it definitely set-off local State Senator Diane Savino and Assemblyman Matthew Titone, who shadowed the group holding, get this, a wig and red high heels. The point they were making is that “If they are going to act like media whores, they should at least dress the part,". You will have to read more about this nutty story to figure this one out, but needless to say it involves members of the State Senate.

wow, that's some unity rally
ReplyDeleteThe last thing that my borough of Staten Island needs is another corrupt politician walking our streets.
ReplyDeletePeople are innocent until proven guilty, but where there's smoke there is usually fire. Isn't there still a sweeping FBI corruption probe of State Senator Diaz and his son, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr.? If I recall correctly, it involves irregularities in a taxpayer-funded home attendant program. .
And aren't both men also being investigated by the NYC Board of Elections for voting offenses? I seem to remember that the Board of Elections subpoenaed voter petitions and other documents from them.
If you can, please let your readers know the status of both investigations.
almost looks like a perp walk
ReplyDeleteBased on comment number 2, he and his son might being doing the perp walk real soon.
ReplyDeleteIn a meal of boring politics, laughter is the best entrée.
