Pedro Espada (left) and his son |
Bronx Political Chatter is a no holds-barred, irreverent look at politics in the Bronx. Bronxites have long lacked an independent forum to express our views about local politics and politicians. Bronx Political Chatter is a place for you to openly express your views, ideas, criticisms and suggestions, and to make our elected officials more accountable for the decisions they make. So this is your turn to be heard.

The Bronx Dem leaders, including Dinowitz, will support their boy no matter how dirty he is. They let Espada terrorize them by switching party allegiance and now they need him in the fold for his 32nd vote. Doesn't matter that in a club of low lifes he is the worst. Hopefully, the Feds will get Espada, then we'll hear from Dinowitz how bad he was."
ReplyDeleteYup, I remember that Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, in his nominal post of Bronx party chair, was so very careful to delay, delay, delay and not do a damn thing against Mr. Espada while the Democrats needed votes in the State Senate. A profile in courage Mr. Dinowitz ain't!
Deletecreatures of the system!!!
DeleteSleazy does it
DeleteThe Bronx Democrats act NOW like they were always skittish about Pedro Espada, but for much of his time in office there was a deep reservoir of support for him from his colleagues and you did not hear them voicing disapproval of him.
DeleteThese politicians can't seem to help doing dumb things and feeling no responsibility to other people.
Deletegood riddance
DeleteThis is the kind of scum that Bronx Dems have supported and tolerated for way too long.
ReplyDeleteSo if anyone wants to thank the Bronx Democrats for years and years of this disgusting crap, please send your cards and letters to the following address:
DeleteTHE BRONX DEMOCRATIC COUNTY COMMITTEE
1640 Eastchester Road
Bronx, New York 10461
Yes, in addition to Daddy Espada and Baby Espada, the Bronx Democratic County Committee deserves much of the blame.
DeleteThe Bronx Democratic County Committee is just the formal name for a local collection of weasels (as in sneaky, evasive, equivocating and treacherous politicians).
Here's the list of pinheads who run the Bronx Democratic County Committee:
Delete_________
Carl E. Heastie, Chairman, Executive Committee
Jeffrey E. Dinowitz, Chairman, County Committee
Annabel Palma, Secretary
Michael Benedetto, Treasurer
Helen D. Foster, 1st Vice-Chairwoman
Lewis Goldstein, Vice-Chairman
Joel R. Rivera, Vice-Chairman
Sylvia Lask, Vice-Chairwoman
Marcella Brown, Vice-Chairwoman
Venancio Catala, Parliamentarian
Howard Vargas, Counsel
Hector Ramirez, Sergeant-at-Arms
Ischia Bravo, Executive Director
Each more obscure than the one before.
DeleteI think they have a higher felony conviction rate than the general population.
DeleteBronx + Democratic + County + Committee
Delete= Bad Judgment and Ineptitude
weasel soup
DeleteOh, come on now ... Do any of you honestly think that the Richmond County Democratic Committee in Staten Island (John Gulino, chairman) is any better?? Or how about the Kings County Democratic Committee in Brooklyn (Vito Lopez, chairman !!!!!) ????
DeleteI looked up some of the names on that list of pinheads on the Bronx Dem Committee ... Some of them are actually elected officials. Oh, the shame of It!
DeleteThe Bronx Democrats have brought this on themselves.
DeleteThese folks on that committee are strictly Bottom of Ballot type politicians. There's not a single big name among them.
DeleteLook at that the names on that list of leaders of the Bronx Democratic County Committee. It's a collection of unprincipled spineless sissies.
DeleteSlimy, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteIt's not anybody else's fault but the Espada family, so it just wrong to blame the Bronx Democratic organization for a bad apple or two.
ReplyDeleteBut they're all bad apples.
DeleteEspada's relations with County were not always smooth, but he was still one of them. So in many ways, they are all birds of a feather.
DeleteYou've got to seriousl;y question the integrity of anyone who is part of that system.
DeleteThis should really be a momement of introspection for Bronx Democrats. They should be eating humble pie over the fact that once again one of their own has fallen to corruption. What kind of an example are these people? What sense of public integrity do they have?
DeletePardon me, but I have lived in The Bronx my whole life and I have never heard of a Bronx Democratic Countty Committee until just now.
ReplyDeleteAs committees go, that one is very obscure.
DeleteLike father, like son.
ReplyDeleteAn old friend said "Little do we and, especially, the younger generation know how blessed, and Edenesque, our life under Pedro Espada really was."
DeleteAnonymous June 3, 2012 12:54 PM sounds like a total fool
Deletewhat ????
DeleteWhy do the people with the biggest skeletons in their closets always run for political office?
ReplyDeletePolitical corruption reflects the widening chasm between the politicians and the electorate.
Deleteever diminishing returns!
DeleteThey are just vermin.
ReplyDeleteNew York is corrupt, but nine states are even worse than us. See what I mean:
ReplyDeleteTOP TEN LIST OF CORRUPT STATES
1) Louisiana
2) Mississippi
3) Kentucky
4) Alabama
5) Ohio
6) Illinois
7) Pennsylvania
8) Florida
9) New Jersey
10) New York
NYS Senate + NYS Assembly = Endless Puke
DeleteI can't see what people are making such a big fuss about -- it's just a few bad apples, nothing more
ReplyDeleteIn Albany, it's more like a few good apples. The rest seem rotten to the core!!
ReplyDeleteAlbany ... a world where night never ends.
